*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am Wisconsin born and raised, and have been in this same small town area all my life. I’m 40something, married 20 years, and have two teenage boys. I work full-time in a fruit juice factory and have been there over 20 years. Can you tell I don’t like change? LOL! When I’m not working or making soap I like to waste time online, read, listen to music, play Warcraft and UO. I’m a huge Lost geek, Harry Potter geek, Lord of the Rings geek, Twilight geek…

*What or who inspires you?

People who really know their craft amaze me. Imagine being a crafter in medieval times when it was your life, not a hobby. Imagine doing it without the speed and convenience of the internet or the mega stores.

*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?

I don’t know about five things but I’d like people to think it looks good enough to try, that it’s a natural product made to be used and not admired for pretty colors or shapes, and that it comes across as made by someone who cares about what they’re doing.

*Do you have any family Christmas Traditions?

I always have to have the Christmas Story marathon on TV while we open our presents Christmas morning. We have a little green elf ornament that sits on the bottom branch of our tree, and that same ornament did the same thing on our family tree all the years that I was growing up. Even though my boys stopped believing in Santa looooooong ago, we still keep presents hidden and only put them under the tree after they’ve gone to bed on Christmas Eve. Oh, and I have to watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at some point or it’s just not Christmas.

*Is there a favorite food that you and your family enjoy during the holidays?

I always make Special K Bars and cut-out cookies the week of Christmas. My older son loves homemade peanut butter balls but I find them a pain to make and don’t do it very often. I’ll have to check Etsy this year for some!

*What is the best part of Christmas for you?

I love the traditions. I’m not very religious but I *love* the nativity story. I love getting Christmas cards but sadly we get fewer every year. It’s that internet convenience again….

*Which Christmas item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?

The Jack Frost soap. It’s a vanilla/mint scent that is just so crisp and clean, reminds me of cold but clear sunny winter days. I love the label too. The pale blue lettering is so different from my other labels. Love it!
