*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am originally from West Texas, a small little town called Midland. I left when I was 18 and moved to several different states before setting down permanently in Virginia Beach, VA. This town is 'home', although, I love to travel and experience the vibe of different places. I love this town because it has a mix of people from all over, it's a military town, so very patriotic and its a great place to raise a family, end enjoy the beaches and smell of the salty air.

*What or who inspires you?

That's a tough one to pin down to one person, I think I've had many people brought into my life who bring me inspiration in different ways. I am inspired by passion and devotion in others...its contagious. My children and dog inspire me to live in the moment and the green movement and my customer inspire me to create the products that I create.

*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?

I want them to see quality, value, functionality, and beauty, and most importantly, see that they are reducing waste by reusing, and they are making a positive impact on our environmental path.

*Do you have any family Christmas Traditions?

We usually go out to dinner on Christmas Eve after going to church, then back home to put the kids to bed and bring out most of the presents that are kept put away, and then the usual..waking up at the crack of dawn to open presents, trying to navigate my way across the room without stepping on a toy, looking for batteries, making cappuccino and espresso, cutting up fresh fruit and I make a punch in the big punch bowl that has turned out to be a Christmas morning tradition and I let the kids find a new punch recipe to try each year. With 7 kids, Christmas is a very busy day around here, getting gadgets to work, organizing the gifts, etc. Christmas is also the birthday for my twin stepdaughters, so we have a birthday party in the afternoon, and a few more gifts for them to open. I am usually ready to collapse around 2 pm, atleast for a nap.

*Is there a favorite food that you and your family enjoy during the holidays?

I'd have to say anything pumpkin, I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread and Carrot cake. My neighbor across the street always brings over fresh baked bread and homemade carrot/pineapple cake loafs and it is SO delicious, I could skip dinner and go straight for the pies and sweets!

*What is the best part of Christmas for you?

Spending time with family and having all of our kids at home, there are two off to college and I look forward to the long break with them home.

*Which Christmas item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?

I always open up a Holiday section in my store and fill it with reusable gift bags. I have a lot of fun with this every year. I start searching for fabrics to use in October, if you wait too long the popular designs sell out. I have some really fun fabrics to use this year, and they usually sell out pretty quickly, especially the larger bags, and let me just say that they make cleaning up SO much easier than mounds of wasted paper all over the floor…I don’t miss those days at all.
