THE WINNER IS:
*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Westminster college with an elementary education degree. I was a substitute teacher for two years and then a Pre-K teacher for one. My husband and I have been married for a little over two years. We don’t have any children yet, but we are the proud parents to 2 cats, Miley (5) and Henry (2).
*What or who inspires you?
I think that everything inspires me. If I go to the craft store for one item, I’ll come out with ten. I love to look at all the beautiful papers that the stores have and think of all the things I can do with them. I also like to find items that are meant for one purpose and use it in another way. I have used coasters on the front of cards or table confetti into gift tags or magnets. Sometimes I just sit down with paper and a pencil and just start drawing out ideas that pop into my head. Some items actually get made and others are stored for later times.
*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?
1) That’s a neat idea.
2) Those are so cute I have to have them. Haha.
3) It’s great that simple items can be so fun and colorful.
4) So and so would love that.
5) I know just what I could use those for.
*Do you have any family Christmas Traditions?
Every year my sisters and I would have Christmas morning with my parents. Then for the afternoon my Dad’s family would come over and we would have brunch. Then in the evening we go to my grandma’s and spend time with my Mom’s side of the family. We have been doing that for as long as I can remember. When I met my husband I told him that Christmas was my holiday and that I would not give up our tradition. He chuckled and said ok.
*Is there a favorite food that you and your family enjoy during the holidays?
For our brunch we have egg casseroles. The kind changes every year, but there is usually one with sausage and peppers and of course a vegetable or plain cheese one for me (I’ve been a vegetarian for about 20 years). As for later in the day, we are Italian so there is always some kind of pasta for dinner.
*What is the best part of Christmas for you?
First off, I absolutely love Christmas! My family makes fun of me, but to me Christmas is a season not just a holiday. I don’t have a favorite part to be honest. I love all the decorations, the sounds during that time and the feeling in the air. Christmas day is probably my favorite day of the year. I get one day that is packed with all of the people in my life that I care the most about, why wouldn’t it be my favorite.
*Which Christmas item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
That’s a tie between my Mini Present Cards (http://www.etsy.com/listing/57660196/mini-holiday-present-greeting-cards-set) and my Santa Gift Tags (http://www.etsy.com/listing/58980594/santa-gift-tags-set-of-10). The Mini Present Cards are because I got the idea from the Christmas bows that are everywhere. They turned out really well so I was happy. The Santa Gift Tags are because I love to color. So shading in the stamp was fun and they look cute.
